Framed Prints Available at Market

Framed nature photos accompanied by stories detailing the character of the local region. Presented as in a Triptych, Diptych or singular photo form, these photos were all taken by Jocelyn Finlay in Lincoln MA and surrounding towns. Each photo has an accompanying story to tell of the feeling at the place where it was taken, see some examples below. Note photos here are low resolution for web presentation, actual prints are high resolution and printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag.

Bear in the fog, 2022
Archival pigment print, 32″x18″

I took these photos for the triptych on a November day in the foggy woods behind DeCordova. It was eerie that day. The fog was like a warm blanket closing me in rather than comforting me. I had a strong sense a black bear was accompanying me on my walk, just far enough away, a bit behind me, and through the trees. I had seen evidence of its presence, and I had this feeling he was rolling along with me through the fog. – Jocelyn Finlay

Companions, 2023
Archival pigment print, 32″x18″

It is civilized at the back of this shelter shed. Trying my photography hand at the triptych form, I came across these rocking chairs (they are still there!) when walking the trails behind DeCordova. I find this triptych technique to be the opposite of my usual macro photography, and I enjoy the leap to another creative avenue.

I like how the three pictures are tied together by the ground; the triptych is literally grounded. I also like that the second chair wants to escape its own frame and join its buddy in the first frame. The window stands there solid and assured, not interested in the emotional pull between the chairs. The winter grass has gone feral and could not care less. – Jocelyn Finlay

Three bags full, 2023
Archival pigment print, 32″x18″

The sheep at Drumlin Farm were relaxing in their barn on a warm, but kind of cold and rainy, January day. The Drumlin sheep are tender and friendly, we have known them and their lambs for years now. – Jocelyn Finlay
